Welcome to the San José City Council District 2 website! I am honored to serve the community in which I grew up. San José’s District 2 includes a number of great neighborhoods as well as a cutting edge Technology Park. Some of the areas included in the District are Edenvale, Santa Teresa, Basking Ridge, Coyote Valley as well as parts of Blossom Valley. One of the leading centers for job creation in San José is the Edenvale Technology Park, located in the North Eastern section of the District. In addition to a number of world leaders in solar and nano technology, the Park includes the San José Biocenter, a world renowned bioscience incubator. Thank you for visiting the District 2 website and feel free to explore and learn more about the wonderful community we have here in south San José. Feel free to contact our office for any questions, concerns or suggestions on how we can improve in our service.

Thank you,

Do you know about San Jose Clean? Back in 2012, the City of San José Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Anti-Graffiti & Anti-Litter Program unveiled a graffiti and blight reporting smartphone application that allows residents to send graffiti, litter and park concerns directly to the City from their iPhone and Android smartphones. Residents can submit concerns by selecting an issue to report, taking photos, accepting the GPS address, and pressing submit.

This technology minimizes time investigating complaints, and the GPS and photos diminish the need for field staff to verify addresses and issues prior to a work order being dispatched. Requests including the photo(s) are then electronically transferred in real time to the closest graffiti removal technician in the field. Once the work is completed the resident can receive real time notification of the job completion. This tool for the community saves staff time and money while tremendously increasing efficiency and customer service.

The new iPhone and Android app has many additional features including a quick link to Councilmembers, key City of San José phone numbers, and a tool that allows residents to easily sign up for volunteer opportunities in the City of San José.

These applications also allow users to choose an option to receive updates on the status of their request. Both Android and iPhone applications are currently available and may be downloaded for free on both the iPhone and Android marketplaces.

Android Phone Users:
Download the application from the Droid Market by searching for the keyword "San Jose Clean" and then click on SAN JOSE CLEAN.

iPhone Users:
Download the SAN JOSE CLEAN application from the iPhone App Store by searching for the keyword "San Jose Clean" and selecting SAN JOSE CLEAN.

The SAN JOSE CLEAN application was developed by App-Order at no cost to the City.
